Vintage Gerz W Germany 3 Muscisians and Horseman 0.5 L Stein

A Rare and lovely Vintage West Germany 0.5L stein from a long established family pottery. The Gerz steins are very collectible as they are made post WW2 and pre-unification and based in West Germany. The scene is traditional of rural life scenes in the local pub or tavern and some of these still exist along with the traditional dress depending on where you go. This example features 3 muscians, one kissing a barmaid while his fellow musician stabs him.

Sayings translation:

Stich uhieb und ein Lieb -- Stab and love

Muss ein Lands-knecht haben -- Must have a farmhand (roughly)

There is very little wear and tear on the stein, the pewter top is intact and tightly secured. The pewter top has some pitting but that is usual for the age of the stein and how it was originally stored. There are no chips on ceramic and the glazing is in great shape as well for the era it was produced.
